USAEBO is the only path way for K-12 students to be on Team USA for International Economics Olympiad (IEO).

Eligibility

​Be with any citizenship.

Be 20 years old or under on the first day of the international competition in the competition year.

To be eligible on Team USA, you must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident (green card holder), or a full-time middle/high school student studying in the U.S.

Structure

Two rounds: Round 1 (open to everyone) and Round 2 (qualify via Round 1).

5 students will be selected from Round 2 to represent the U.S. at International Economics Olympiad.

Eligibility: Open to everyone.​

Date and time: May 16, 8pm-9pm (U.S. Eastern Time).

Award system: Distinguished Honors, High Honors, Honors.

Format: 25 multiple-choice problems.

Round 2

Eligibility: Qualify via Round 1.​

Date and time: May 30, 8pm-10pm (U.S. Eastern Time).

Award system: Team USA for IEO (5 members), Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention.

Proctor​

Each round must be proctored by using the required technology.​

Disqualification (Zero tolerance on cheating)
-
One-cheating, permanent ban policy: If a student is identified to have a cheating behavior, this student is permanently disqualified for both the current and all future competition cycles.

If a disqualified student applies to an organization’s educational program (such as college applications, summer programs, or scholarship opportunities) and the program requests information about the student’s history with USACyO, we will truthfully disclose the student’s cheating behavior and the disqualification decision.
